The Scottish Bestiary Portfolio

Paragon Press

DESCRIPTION

The twenty Scottish Bestiary prints were made at Peacock Printmakers in Aberdeen. The etchings were printed by Beth Fisher and Lennox Dunbar, lithographs by Stewart Cordiner, woodcuts by Bob Bain and screenprints by Arthur Watson. There are fifty portfolios, each consisting of a title page and twenty signed and numbered prints. Portfolios numbere 1 to 30 are contained in buckram folders, whereas those numbered 31 to 50 have been divided between the artists. The prints also appear in an edition of sixty books, with texts by George Mackay Brown. The Scottish Bestiary was conceived and published by Charles Booth-Clibborn under the imprint of The Paragon Press.
